Welcome to AMI of Oakland County! |
| The Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Oakland County is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization of consumers, families, and friends of people with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic and other severe anxiety disorders, and other mental illnesses that affect the brain. |

AMI Oakland’s General Meetings are educational meetings and are typically the fourth Thursday of each month. They are held at the Beaumont Hospital Administration Building. 3601 W. The North (248.706.0591) and South (248.557.6440) Oakland Information and Referral lines are two separate phones that are answered by knowledgeable AMI family members who will provide information on access to services, providers of services, meetings and other information sources. Families in Action Is designed to help families deal with grief and how to help their loved one(s) move toward recovery. The family members who conduct the program are people just like you. They have also lived the hardships of mental illness and have been trained on how to share their experiences with others. For more specific information please click on Families in Action. |
